Hedge Veg Project

September 2024, I visited the greenhouse where my great uncle Micky used to grow strawberries. Located at Hougue Du Pommier, the greenhouses are now looked after by Cornucopia. Free range chickens weave between the vegetables and a drum kit sits in the corner.

I’m taken on a tour by Stuart who set up Cornucopia, a social space where you can give your time on the land or share a skill in exchange for fruit and vegetables. I try a fig straight off the vine. It’s my first time eating a fig. It’s small, but I quite like it.
