Skipton Art Festival 2015
The Skipton Art Festival launched in 2015 on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. I was appointed the festival director and chairperson of the Guernsey Art Network at the age of 26.
Following a summer drawing event, Adam Stephens brought together an incredible group of artists to form a committee to host this art festival. At our first meeting I was nominated to be the chairperson. I gifted the Gsy Art Hub website to the network, which was revolutionised by the incredibly talented graphic designer and co-founder, Christa Puch Nielsen. I left my full time employment and dedicated a year to registering GAN as a non profit organisation, meeting sponsors and media outlets, attending monthly meetings and encouraging artists to participate. The festival was a great success that could not have been possible without the combined talent and effort from the committee members and volunteers involved. I am pleased that the network is still going today and supporting artists on their creative journey.
